New Year's cocktail

Wireless Leiden organizes, shortly after the change of the year, a cocktail for everybody with a warm heart for our organisation.
This New Year's Cocktail will be held on Tuesday evening, January 4th, 2011 in Unit 8 of "Nieuwe Energie" (3e Binnenvestgracht 23, Leiden), from 20:00 uur on.
In order to give the event also some useful content, Frits Nolet (board member of stipv6) will give an introduction on the subject "Transition from IPv4 to IPv6" ("Overgang van IPv4 naar IPv6").
We hope to see many of our contacts and users!

Nieuwjaarsborrel

Wireless Leiden wil dit jaar rond de jaarwisseling weer een borrel organiseren voor allen die ons een warm hart toedragen.
Deze nieuwjaarsborrel zal worden gehouden op dinsdagavond 4 januari 2011, in Unit 8 van Nieuwe Energie (3e Binnenvestgracht 23, Leiden), vanaf 20:00 uur.

On 22 en 29 December 2010 no walk-in consultancy!

Due to the extreme weather conditions and the Christmas holidays of our volunteers there will be no walk-in consultancy on Wednesday 22 and on Wednesday 29 December 2010.
We are looking forward to see our users and other interested people back at the walk-in consultancy from 5 January 2011 on.
Meanwhile also during the holiday season it is possible to ask your questions through our users list (gebruikerslijst). Subscribe to this list via http://lijst.wirelessleiden.nl to be able to read our reactions!

Op 22 en 29 december 2010 geen inloopspreekuur!

In verband met de extreem winterse omstandigheden en de Kerstvakantie van onze vrijwilligers zal er op de woensdagen 22 en en 29 december 2010 geen inloopspreekuur gehouden worden.
We zien onze gebruikers en andere belangstellenden graag weer terug op het inloopspreekuur vanaf 5 januari 2011.
vanzelfsprekend kunnen er ook in de vakantieperiode vragen gesteld worden via onze gebruikerslijst. Geef u daarvoor op via http://lijst.wirelessleiden.nl om de reacties te kunnen lezen!

PhD thesis about Wireless Leiden

Stefan Verhaegh has successfully defended a PhD thesis called "How Community Innovation Works", with the subtitle "A Material-Semiotic Analysis of the Wireless Leiden Wi-Fi Network" at the Technical University Twente (Enschede) on 17 December 2010.
Although more has been published about our fecundation and about our network in academic literature, this is the first PhD thesis about Wireless Leiden.
We congratulate Stefan with his doctorate!

Academische promotie over Wireless Leiden

Stefan Verhaegh is op vrijdag 17 december 2010 aan de TU Twente gepromoveerd op het proefschrift "How Community Innovation Works", met als ondertitel "A Material-Semiotic Analysis of the Wireless Leiden Wi-Fi Network".
Hoewel er meer over onze stichting en ons netwerk in academische vakliteratuur geschreven is, is dit de eerste academische promotie met Wireless Leiden als onderwerp.
Wij wensen Stefan geluk met zijn behaalde doctoraat!
